Financial planning through-out one's life cycle.
The financial planning process begins with the initial interview.  The initial interview is the most important part of the process.  It is very important that I know where a prospective client is and what their future goals are.  From there I follow a 6 step process. 

Step One: Establishing and defining the client-planner relationship.
I will sit down with you and explain and document the services to be provided to  you and define both of our responsibilities.

Step Two: Gathering client data, including goals.
I will ask for more information about your financial situation.  You and I should mutually define your personal and financial goals, understand your time frame for results and discuss how you feel about risk.

Step Three: Analyzing and evaluating  your financial status.
I will analyze your information to assess your current situation and determine what you must do to meet your goals.  Depending on what services your have a asked for,  this could include analyzing your assets, liabilities and cash flow, current insurance coverage, investments or tax strategies.

Step Four: Developing and presenting financial planning recommendations and / or alternatives.
I offer financial planning recommendations that address your goals, based on the information you provide.  I go over their recommendations with you to help you understand them so that you can make informed decisions.  I will listen to your concerns and revise the recommendations as appropriate. 

Step Five:  Implementing financial planning recommendations.
You and I should agree on how the recommendations will be carried out.  I may carry out the recommendations or serve as your "coach", coordinating with you and other professionals.

Step Six:  Monitoring the financial planning recommendations.
I will monitor your progress toward your goals.  I will report to you periodically to review your situation and adjust the recommendations if needed, as your life changes.
